sorry lads, completely forgot to set the monday update to happen as I had a weddin’ over the course of the weekend (not mine hahah) and was consumed by that – similar thoughts on this page to the last, nice to get some of the action drawn and show off some of the characters a little more – we’re closing in on the 500th page which is mental to me. hahah

Aww. c’mon, Silverback! Bad puns in the middle of a fight are a superheroic staple! Be proud!
In the (now) old X-men comics of the mid-nineties, “pun not intended” was a frequent line.
Then Iceman, fighting Legion to try and prevent him from killing Erik Lehnsherr years before he became Magneto, said “I’m putting you on ice — PUN INTENDED, DUDE!”
Yeah, that very same pun.
So while I agree with the sentiment, one also has to remember that one’s comrades may be merciless about what one said. (See Majesty himself being a target of such mischief in the first episodes of the Royal Guard story on Webtoons.)
About the update: well, the page is up now. That’s the main thing, isn’t it? Also, weddings are (usually) happy occurrences and I’m glad (if this one is) for you, the bride and the groom!
And yeah, you do show off some of the characters. (Absolutely not commenting on one character in particular here, least of all one whose name starts with an M.)
Princess Paragon’s power set looks decidedly different from Wonder Woman, whom I assumed she was the S7’s match. (Same about Migrant and Martian Manhunter, or Dagon and Aquaman, while I’m at it.)
I love that the (comparatively) tiny M.A.N.T.I.S grunt in Magnifica’s hand is still trying to shoot her. Without apparent results; because her skin is now ten times as thick as normal (estimation from relative sizes) or because she also has improved durability? Maybe we’ll know in time.
Oh, and I’m certainly wrong about it, but I don’t recall Cry’s face being distorted by her power that way. Does my memory fail me (not the first time), or is she using it to much higher levels than previously?
I’m not sure I understand which “line” Quarterback and company are holding. Are there civilians behind them, that they’re protecting against the brunt of the general assault? Or facilities that need to be protected?
And of course, it seems that Our Hero is on the verge of understanding something pivotal. Come to think of it, I seem to remember that “making people fight so their energy output powers something or someone up” is a common plot in fighting games. Could it be that our heroes’ powers (with the possibility that even with people whose power is internal, such as Magnifica, Roughhouse, Blackbird, or the Reptilian, the very use of their power may involve some kind of energy that would seep through their bodies) would be what awakens the Venerator?
@Deoxy: I had answers for you on the last page, but I didn’t answer early enough. It’ll go into oblivion (no real point in debating on a past page here), but I’d like to offer a consideration that has become relevant here.
I wholly agree that the “extras” should be protected, which includes taking down the bad guys swiftly and efficiently. But seeing Conjurer’s, Altera’s, Princess Paragon’s, Quarterback’s, Cry’s and above all Snowfall’s powers at work here, I’m worrying that they might be the ones to hurt “extras” that they mean to protect. Hence the question (at least as old as Kingdom Come): to what extent should they pull their punches here?
I would also like to bring up a point of syntax: in the second thought box of the first panel, shouldn’t there be an apostrophe in “the machines’ inner workings”?
Yeah, that may be the tiniest spelling/grammar/syntax point I’ve mentioned. As always, delete or ignore at will.
