Okay, I can accept that Kenny’s actually better at welcoming the event than Amy is because he’s… well, not actually stupid, but let’s say less informed of future developments (or he can just fake it better than her), but it’s a good thing Anne is thanking Amy so profusely because that’s the only way she could be that oblivious to Amy’s obvious discontent.
(This, of course, assumes Anne is reasonably gifted socially. A socially inept person, such as, say, yours truly, could totally achieve that level of obliviousness. In Anne’s shoes, it would take me three days to wonder why Amy looked so angry at my idea. And then I’d dismiss it on she’s got a lot to handle, see how she couldn’t answer her phone lately.)
Still, I wonder why Amy is so angry about that. Because more people coming in raise the profile of the organization? Because, as Grog says, she feels it’ll conflict with their plans to take over the world? (As in, more people coming in will disturb real M.A.N.T.I.S. operatives?)
Oh, and I love the notion of “paying forward”. It’s great to see it mentioned here!
