Your blows are so weak, he had to get annoyed about something else before he bothered blocking them. Seriously, go back to the kids’ table where you belong.

Commence beatdown to entire immature team. Not even an “epic” beatdown – nothing “epic” about pointing out basic facts to tantrumming brats.

I’m not even sure he’s about to try and beat them. Throwing Quarterback (far) away is a way of getting him out of his hair for a while, possibly enough to talk some sense into the others.

Looks like Conjurer at least wants to try to deescalate, unlike her teammates who seem more interested in bullying another student to make themselves look more superior. Seeing how casual Silverback shrugged off Quarterback they might just find themselves out of their league though.

Yeah, let’s hope cooler heads prevail. Or someone might hit them together.

“Take a seat, say, three kilometers away.”

I remember playing the Aberrant RPG (which leaned into rather high power levels even for supers) and panicking while brawling with a guy made of lava. Didn’t really think about my character’s lifting capacity and resorted to a desperate grab and full-force throw before he cooked me. The GM did some calculations and informed us how far he went before landing. We were in Madgascar. He splashed down almost a hundred miles out in the Atlantic Ocean. Lava doesn’t float well. Got off the murder charge on grounds of self-defense.

Thankfully Silverback has a cooler head than I do.

Huh. Still getting a feel for the powerscaling, here. I guess considering how he was able to do against Warhead, Silverback *would* be considered abnormally powerful even for a super. Guess Quarterback had to find out the hard way. I suppose you have to expect that, picking fights in a superpowers university with such a plethora of abilities. Somehow though, I don’t think our sports themed aggressor did.

To me, the true proof that Silverback’s power rating is in the upper tier (and possibly in the highest part thereof) is his fight against Egregore, where he had to survive and defeat Dragonshard’s assault as well as the main bad guy’s onslaught.

The Royal Guard used diplomacy with him thereafter, probably because they’re good guys and will look for the least destructive option first, but possibly also because what they had seen meant that though they would no doubt beat him, he might hurt them quite a bit in return. So, yeah, I translate “not-quite-able-to-take-on-the-whole-Royal-Guard-on-my-own” to, say, the upper 2%.

(Of course, the Royal Guard may be a whole big deal in the UK and still rather average in a worldwide context. We have no way of knowing so far.)

Going by the other RG story we’ve seen, I think they’re very close to top-tier as groups go. Your assessment of Silverback is likely to be pretty accurate. He gave teh whole team a real run for their money, and notably was not casually overwhelmed by Egregore while doing so.

“‘Monkeyboy’? That’s ‘Mr. Ape’ for you!”

So, we already know of Silverback’s humongous strength, durability, healing speed, willpower and heart.

The deflection in panel 6 also shows not only impressive quick (since he can feel Quarterback’s punches, it follows that they must hit pretty hard and therefore strike pretty fast) but a significant amount of martial arts training (or a superpower-induced equivalent, such as Chris Claremont’s Huntsman).

And Snowfall’s still trying to defuse the situation, with much better chosen words this time. Here’s hoping the one Sentry with a cool head will conjure up peace among her teammates.

(Oh, and very interesting wave lines around the Migrant’s head.)

Quarterback’s blows are almost certainly being augmented by that energy aura, so they may not be all that fast, just fairly damaging.

Not enough to make Silverback to go ouchie, but I suppose they must impress someone.

Quarterback’s blow does make Silverback go ouchie in the second panel, so I assume the other ones do so too. But I hadn’t thought about the energy aura increasing the damage, which may indeed factor in.
