How does she not know anything about that whole incident? It wasn’t that long ago, and the whole planet was affected to some degree. Even if the details aren’t well-known, unless there was a mass mindwipe/reality reset afterward this feels like a “Who’s this Hitler person?” moment.

Which let us have the exposition story courtesy of Majesty, in which (page Venerator War; Part 14) it’s explicitly said that Violet (of the Pantheon) mind-wipe pretty much the entire planet except the superbeings that had fought in the war, “to try and minimize the trauma and fallout of these events” after the whole war had been undone anyway.
The last page of the Venerator War (page 14) exposition says that Violet wiped it from the minds of everyone in the world and then restored it to some of the world leaders when Silver was explaining what had happened and that he should be in charge.

Interesting how Mentelle replies to the terrorist and seems to use her replies as guiding lines into his mind.
It does raise the question: in a world where super powers are commonplace enough that there’s a whole university dedicated to learning how to use them, is prying into someone’s thoughts and memories a misdemeanor, or even a crime? (Aside from situations like this, obviously.) It’s a very clear violation of privacy, and likely hurts one’s feelings. Does it actually hurt? Is the “NNGGH” a grunt of pain or just the terrorist trying in vain to block Mentelle’s progress? Should it be construed as torture?
(Note that even if so, I’m not saying Mentelle shouldn’t do it; the same way punching someone is a misdemeanor but superheroes do it all the time at villains and that’s all right. But I feel the ethical questions should be raised at some point.)
