Good point! But is it coincidence… or have M.A.N.T.I.S. set the date for that day when most supereyes are turned towards the big tournament? (Anne’s big event still being a coincidence, of course.)
If so, the conundrum that is vexing even Jonathan Silver himself might have the most obvious answer: a well-hidden mole, passing information to the enemy so they can plan accordingly. But who would that be? They’d need to be awfully well guarded psychically, of course.
If so again, it would be funny if some of the teams that the Macronauts defeated had been weakened beforehand by M.A.N.T.I.S., or made to lose their match “or else”…
Aura, naturally, would be a prime candidate for that, since she just made a suggestion that started the Pantheon going to the IU. I don’t like the notion of Jonathan Silver being behind all this, since, well, he’s already got everything. (Unless there’s something that I don’t know. Well, there are countless things that I don’t know, but one relevant to the situation.)
Silver is really polite; while Cassandra is obviously artificial, he still adds “if you would” to his requests. We still don’t know for sure if he is hero or villain, but he sure is nice. (Yeah, I know, Nice Is Not Good. Then again, Silverback is both.)
Very nice transition between the first two panels. (And a reminder that no matter what their foreign image is, the British drink more coffee than tea.)
nooooo not all on the same day! whos gonna save ms walker if hes off planet
