ok, I sometimes feel bad when I post a splash page coz it’s generally not a lot of readin’ for you guys but this one took a fair bit of work so I experience no guilt this time. hahah
Somehow I suspect the next line will be: “Outnumbered? Perhaps. Outgunned? “
Or someone will retort that M.A.N.T.I.S. are much more numerous than the sixteen heroes, to which the lady in red and white will scoff, “You’re wrong… by several orders of MAGNITUDE.”

You don’t have to feel bad about this splash page, it’s awesome! (It’s taken me a fair bit of time to make sure everyone was accounted for, by the way. I almost complained that Blackbird wasn’t visible anywhere until I noticed that I’d missed him in the upper right corner.
I note that Mother Mantis has quickly closed her helmet again. Watch her reflexes, heroes.
I love the variety of reactions from the M.A.N.T.I.S. soldiers. That’s awfully well done.
I still have one question. How are the heroes going to weather the fall? I assume Aura, Blackbird, Idol, Magnifica, Migrant, Quarterback, Reptilian, Roughhouse, and Silverback are either (quasi-)flight-capable or sturdy enough, but how about the others? The easiest way might be for Snowfall to cushion everyone else’s fall with a huge heap of snow (she might be preparing that with that beautiful shining ring in front of her). Or Altera could make the air down below hyper-dense, which would slow down the last few meters. Or transmute said air into a huge rubber mattress. Those three approaches would also strongly inconvenience the opposition.
… I still have one quibble about Blackbird: his left leg looks like it’s been cut of slightly below the knee. I guess a bit of debris that was meant to hide the rest of his leg has been moved at some point.
(As always, ignore or delete. In fact, this time, if you act on the quibble, PLEASE delete it because it’ll look unwarranted.
