Interesting theory, but I feel his eyes are focused on Marc. It’s just there’s a white reflection in the center of his pupils (and two smaller ones in his irises). Looking closer, you may notice a black circle around the white (which makes it the pupil) and then the brown iris.
Thank you. I just saw the next page, he’s not blind, theory busted. But… well, I still see that Quarterback is looking straight at the viewer or even a bit to the right (my right, his left), while Marc is (from his POV) behind his hand, more to Quarterbacks right side.
I don’t know what I’d love more — for Quarterback to actually be a nice guy when stripped away from the bluster of current superheroing, or for that guy to be Quarterback’s nice brother (not necessarily his twin, like Venus and Serena Williams) who’s come to support him in the coming event. Fun and misunderstandings either way.
Also, I like that Silverback is putting so much effort in something that a few months ago he’d deemed worthless (compared to actually protecting real people like he’d been doing before going to IU). Until told otherwise I’ll assume that if asked about it, he’d say it doesn’t matter in and of itself, but the team he belongs to does and he has to focus on the comparatively unimportant sports event for the sake of his friends. (Particularly Snowfall, of course.)
Wh-where does he look at? Could it be that Quarterback is blind?

…
Anyway… Strange stuff is going on.
