Hm. Aura strikes me as someone full of surprises, particularly as regards her abilities. (Which may account for part of Magnifica’s humour here.) Maybe she left indeed, then sensed somehow that she was needed here. So far, we’ve seen her use impressive physicality, but would that be enough to warrant a place in the Pantheon? Possibly. Then again, possibly not.
Also, interesting that Cry goes from barely able to stand the pressure of command (almost throwing up for it) to being angry at being robbed of it in the space of seven pages. Then again, I guess it’s more a point of principle — if Aura had but asked, I guess she’d have been happy to relinquish authority. But I guess the Pantheon are used to being the highest-ranking people in any given room. (Here’s hoping it doesn’t build hubris; come to think of it, their name is a sign of it already.)
And of course, I totally looooooove Mentelle’s “please. I’m a professional” attitude. I really enjoy moments like this where the so-far-little-known get their chance to shine. Silverback’s shortening of her name leads me to wonder how it is pronounced: “Mentel”? “Mentelee”?
Oh, and if I may offer a suggestion, the banner picture might be slightly dated now that S7 and the Macronauts are working together (for now, but Quarterback’s change of heart may make it more permanent). So I offer the second panel of the previous page as a possible replacement: Princess Paragon and Snowfall cleaning up the opposition together. Of all the teamup panels, that one strikes me as the most balanced (unlike, say, the one with Conjurer and Altera where the latter is much smaller, which works very well in context but the banner would be out of it) and the most compact (the panel with Cry, Magnifica, Quarterback and SB would be great too, but might lose in minification).
