Indeed. I wonder if the lady in purple in the third panel is the same character from the Pantheon, with an earlier costume design? Or is the one we already met a successor?
Regarding the lady in purple: on second thoughts, another lady in purple appears on the last page, in the same panel as Jonathan Silver and David Coal (my current name for the fellow in black), with a third costume.
I think that last one is more likely to be linked to the one Silverback saw with the rest of the Pantheon, unless her costume is ever-changing, even more than Janet Pym’s?
Yeah, it makes sense that even destroying the universe would take less power than stopping it. That’s a very smart way out of the Venerator’s apparent omnipotence.
The arthropod-like person in bright pink and greenish yellow in the second panel reminds me of the old 80s french comic Mikros. Would it by any chance be an influence?
All in all, this sub-arc looks awesomely epic. I wonder how Silverback will fare against the Venerator? (Because let’s face it, now that it’s been mentioned, it’s not a point of if it will be activated but when and how.) Not to mention Cailleach?
… Ooooh, I just had the most wicked notion. What if Cailleach took over the Venerator and made him freeze the entire universe? I can hear the Venerator think, “Why didn’t I get that idea back then?”
I see your point, but then the being is shown to be so immensely powerful that by page 2 of the sub-arc I was convinced the heroes (even hypothetically helped by villains) would not be enough to stop it.
its cool to see one of the pantheon in action on this page, is that some sort of shadow kinesis?

Also, nice to see Majesty in the last panel.

So, they didn’t actually beat the Venerator outright, so much as it overextended itself?
That’s… a bit less than comforting.
