Ummm, it’s “hypothermic shock” there. “Hyperthermic shock” is when when your body is shutting down from excessive heat, the exact opposite of what’s happening here.
That’s the thing when you encounter a force of nature — it can’t be reasoned with, it can’t be bargained with, it doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear! And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until… it’s done.
But what is this force of nature (or possibly mystic entity) out to do? Will praying have an effect?
