“I shall try to keep this as concise as possible…”
…because honestly, the gal on my left is standing in a pose that looks really uncomfortable to maintain for any length of time, and the steady breeze keeping her coat flared out like that is kind of annoying me. 🙂
That being said, you’ll note that while she looks like she’s standing with her side to the crowd in the first panel, she seems to have shifted her stance somewhat in the following panels and is standing three-quarters facing them.
(And maybe it’s just a perk of her having super agility: “Yeah, I can strike any pose and keep it for pretty much as long as you like. I started out as a model for H. R. Giger, but someone told me superhero comics paid better, and one thing led to another.”)
Okay, so I like Jonathan Silver for now. (I’m sure he feels so flattered.) He’s conversant with the current need of addressing more than two genders, does apologize for being late, implies that everyone’s time is precious, gives credit to the Royal Guard, acknowledges the power of the assembled people. He might have been more concise by skipping panel four, but I guess you have to be a little dramatic when such a crisis is afoot.
About his apologies: they may sound hollow if the Pantheon is always late, but then again maybe they’re always late for a good reason, not just Jonathan Silver grooming his suite a seventy-eighth time to make sure it’s totally pristine. And yet, this time, we know why they were so late: they stopped to look at Silverback and Snowfall (really Cailleach)’s fight against the Sentry 7.
Of course, each of the three entities have a reason to be (in)famous. The Sentry 7 are the new hot thing, so maybe the Pantheon want to keep tabs on them, Snowfall’s first outing has been quite the catastrophe, and I can imagine Majesty retelling the aftermath of the fight with Egregore to Jonathan Silver, the latter going, “… wait, he was prepared to fight ALL OF YOU?”

Ha! Well played!
