Well, we know what one US super is like – Quarterback is an implausible supranym for anyone outside of the US. The rest of the team hasn’t actually said anything yet and might be multinational (although probably not), and the US must have many super teams. There are about 350 million US citizens, compared to the UK’s less than 70 million, and yet we’ve seen a lot of UK supers so far, both villains and heroes. Should be even more in larger countries like China, India and Indonesia, assuming at least a loose correlation between population and emergence of powered individuals.
Right, so it just hit me that it’s part of Quarterback’s power set: creating energy balls and throwing them, because, y’know, quarterback.
Oh, and I’ve always wanted to write dialogue that went, “Do you know who I am? – No. Should that make a difference?” I’m thrilled to see Silverback do something close here. Thanks!
Snowfall’s lines in the first panel are great too.
And I guess it says something about Blackbird that we see him smile for the first time and Quarterback’s mocking someone. Not to mention Quarterback’s line about Silverback’s “biting off [his] style” shows ego ’bout the size of the Rockies in really few words. Very well done!
(Last, now I’m wondering if someone from the Royal Guard — or possibly Oberon — subtly pushed Quarterback to throw a ball to Clash Jackson’s statue. On the way back to remind myself of the great one’s name, I saw on page https://silverbackcomic.com/the-story-so-far/curveball/ that indeed, it was Quarterback throwing balls aand Trackstar dodging them, so I guess I can stop wondering and just assume the Sentry 7 just have more power than sense of responsibility.)
“And they’re posing dramatically!”
Welp, guess we know what the American supers are like. Dude seriously needs an ego deflating.

Crowd body language does not appear pleased so far.
