I’ve been hoping for Marc to be able to spend more time with his regular friends, so I’m half-glad he takes the time to talk with the people at Egress (I have to say the place looks much more mundane and relaxed here than when he arrived there — see January 23rd, 2023). That second panel leads me to suspect that Sentry 7 never take the time to talk with the staff (though someone being the exception would be funny). And also, I can see a pandimensional threat escape Bobcat and Magnifica into Egress, only for the “good people, average folks” to pull out MiB-style devastating power rifles and erafriggingdicate the hideous creatures.
And yeah, in panel 3, it’s obvious he’s keeping an eye out for Bobcat. Oh, and possibly Magnifica. But sure, Marc, Bobcat has your attention. (Then again, Marc is serious enough to watch Bobcat specifically for lessons in how to wrangle an interdimensional threat, since his own ability set is closer to the man’s.)
I also like how panel 4 shows that mainstay of superhero teams (from JLA to Avengers to X-Men and back): one shatters stone with his fists, another unleashes humongous ice storms, and the third… well, jumps around very well and can aim with impressive accuracy.
It’s very nice that Marc has friends in the superhero world (besides Cry, whom the last panel does shorthand a bit, probably because she can’t spend much time with him these days). I hope he doesn’t find out that he should keep tabs with his pub pals as well the hard way, when it turns out to that the M.A.N.T.I.S. operative Silverback has been fighting bitterly is actually Kenny. (Then again, that’d be another classic of superhero stories.)
