Aaaah, capitalism in its finest stink. “I’m giving you money to help you, and you repay me tenfold with breakthroughs you’ve taken all the risks to make.”
Now, of course, one wonders about that alert in the last panel. Does it refer to the ongoing matters at the Invincible University (either around Silverback or around that meeting the Royal Guard were attending), to the current M.A.N.T.I.S. works, or to something else altogether because the world of Silverback is a complex one?
If it’s about the Invincible University, that means Yeoman has managed to buy eyes an ears inside. I was thinking he might not be interested in S.I.D.H.E. if he did (would you try to buy a rifle when you have a battleship?), but this proposal comes soon after the Royal Guard’s battle against Egregore, that actually went quite bad for the heroes. So, if that island has produced two individuals whose power level apparently rival that of the Guard (Egregore and Silverback, who was instrumental in defeating him), it makes sense that now he’d be interested. (As opposed as when Warhead was defeated rather easily, all things in proportion.)
Also, I strongly dislike to be the bearer of bad news, but I have a few corrections to offer:
– In panel 2, it seems to me like Oberon should say “what exactly do you hope to gain *from* said partnership”.
– In panel 4, Oberon says “We operate in the interest of the nations security”; I think it should be “the nation’s security”, with an apostrophe.
– In panel 4 again, Yeoman’s second speech bubble says “securing propriatary rights”; I think it should be “proprietary”, with an “e”.
As always, make of this what you will, including deleting this comment. Thank you for this great comic!
