Interesting how the minister’s spine is still intact despite his rather sheepish behaviour previously. And yeah, I can understand how he refuses to help Oberon out against the Guard; he can’t be viewed as taking sides. I note that Oberon lets the matter drop, so he must reckon the man has a point.
Other than that, I feel he’s being a fool for thinking relying on private money will help a government organization, but he’s (sadly) far from the only one.
And saying this, he deftly dodges the notion of how Yeoman has information about the island, which should indeed be kept under tight wraps…
Last, strange how Yeoman holds his wrist. It looks like he’s hurt. Will we know more soon? (I doubt it. This character looks like his secrets will be revealed one drop at a time.)
Also, in Donald’s first speech bubble of the third panel (I’m counting Yeoman as part of the first panel), “Oberon, reign it in” seems wrong to me; I feel it should be “rein it in”, without a “g”. As always, I hope I’m not giving you trouble.
Oh, and I forgot: as a Frenchman, I call upon the Auld Alliance to respectfully ask that we see a good character drink French wine at some point. I’m not taking issue with Oberon’s calling it Oberon’s drink “swill” because that’s his character, but it would be nice to keep good relationships between both your land and mine.
Hmm, could Richy Rich there actually be someone else? Maybe someone whose disguise is failing?
Interesting thought! That didn’t occur to me. Well done!
