Nursed
I’m never sure if I should expand the site a little by attaching the expanded lore n stuff i work on behind the scenes? would it ruin the eventual reveal for the comics?
anyone who’s wantin’ to see some other characters from within the universe of SB (i refer to as my Macroverse) ye can check it out here –
https://www.deviantart.com/silverback1/gallery/94521660/heroes-and-villains-of-the-macroverse
they’ll all make it to the pages of the comic some day, if you think I should add these to the site then lemme know in the comments.
ALSO – taken it upon myself to do a self imposed art challenge drawing indie comic characters (1 a day) over on my insta and patreon,
if you’re interested in a little history for a character who inspired the creation of SB then check it out the latest post here –

Y’know, when I was a kid and I read such a scene I’d be screaming inside, “Ya dumbass, you have a choice between good guys and bad guys and you choose the latter?” (Yes, I used “good” and “bad”. I was a kid.) For what it’s worth, when I read an abridged version of the Iliad for kids I spent more than half the story screaming inside at Agamemnon why didn’t he just reconcile with Achilles.
Now, of course, I understand that one’s feelings (here, I’d say bitterness and fear) may overcome one’s strategic thinking.
Because really, the way even he puts it, it sounds like a reallllllly bad idea. (Though I understand that the things he’d rather the ‘Guard didn’t find — beautifully British understatement — are important enough that he’s hesitating.)
Also, I like the world-building hints at the “accords” and how the ‘Guard and the Pantheon enforce them.
Is it wrong that I read “applications for civilian life” as “creating civilian enslaved monsters and building civilian-application weapons of mass destruction”?
Last, Saira strikes me as deviously thinking something up in the last panel. What is she going to propose next? (Hopefully she isn’t already in Yeoman’s pocket…)
Different topic, different comment: I loved your sad, strong, heartfelt story about the Tick. I knew about it, but never got around to read it. Now I really want to give it a try. I never saw a connection with Silverback before, but your picture and story made it obvious. Thanks!
(And I felt sorry reading about your mother and about your father. There’s a jedi hug here if you want one.)
I appreciate ye man, that you take the time to read the comic means a lot and that you took the time to give that a looksee too means the world – big ol’ SB hugs back!
Wow, a hug by SB must be either the greatest or the most terrifying, depending on how well he knows his own strength. I’ll take it he’s learned that! Marc strikes me as the type who would hug people. (Right now I can’t remember if we saw him hug someone. I just checked and even with Snowfall he just put his hand on hers.)
(Now I want to see Silverback walk around the IU with a “Free Hugs” sign. Or better yet, close to a M.A.N.T.I.S. demonstration where Kenny can see him.)
Oh, and if I still may, I think “dickheads'” in the third panel should be written “dickhead’s” (moving the apostrophe one step to the left), and “civillian” should be “civilian” (one ell).
good catches chum, much appreciated!
