Chapter: Volume 3; Schooled
Characters: Aura, Bulldog, Celtica, Cry, Dragonshard, Engine, Erebus, Jonathan Silver, Majesty, Redline, Royal Guard, Shift, Spitfire, The Pantheon, Violet
Location: Invincible University
Involuntary teleportation with no advance warning is rude no matter how you phrase things, Silver. But you’re actually a supervillain, so no surprise there.
You do have a point (in your first sentence, that is).
Then again, it’s faster than them going down there themselves, and with the number of people arrayed here, I guess time wasted multiplied by attendance would be huge. Also, at least Hood, Majesty and Celtica know what’s coming. (Possibly Dragonshard too, but he dislikes it a lot.) So the rudeness is also somewhat mitigated.
Regarding Silver being a supervillain, while I still don’t agree (innocent until proved otherwise), I really like how Violet’s teleporting the Guard leaves them in a different position than the one they had before, and exactly half the Pantheon (Erebus, Violet and Engine) has a stance that can be viewed as confrontational towards the Guard, Aura, Redline and Silver have one that appears quite neutral. Very ambivalent, letting us pursue the debate.
I love how Hood, Majesty, and Celtica keep their stance after being teleported. Conversely, Dragonshard, Bulldog, and particularly Cry look disturbed. (Spitfire and Shift’s stances look unreadable as per their characters.)
And I wonder if they’ll credit Silverback for his essential role in defeating Egregore. (I don’t know whether he would be better off if so or if not.)
