did all of the heroes remember? or just the ones in space? it seems like powers come from diverse sources so it would be strange to me for heroes of all types to remember everything while all the humans don’t, especially if they had false memories implanted of the past few days?or retconned memories i guess that would technically be more real
Not just the regular humans either. The whole universe was experiencing effects from this mess. Presumably all the other species out there have had memories of giant shadow chains appearing out of nowhere, etc. erased – but what about their superbeings? Is the Earth due for some visitors looking to find out what that was all about when they trace the origin point of the event?
Reminds of a campaign published for the Masks RPG where a bunch of advanced aliens show up and essentially conquer and isolate the main campaign city because their time monitors suggest a universe-ending event is going to start there in the next few years and they want to stop it – but of course they may actually be causing it by interfering instead.
My take on it is that the heroes who had actually fought the Venerator and/or Cogniostro were voluntarily involved with the events, which made them more or less immune to the retcon event’s effects.
While all the other people had nothing to remember but their own deaths. (Which may also factor in some subconscious motivation to forget what happened.)
My own question is, were the Utopian and the other people who died fighting 1) saved, 2) aware of what happened?
All their trouble are Retcon gone. Hopefully that doesn’t mean they have to fight Cogniostro and The Venerator again.
